This is the message i get when i scroll over my network connections icon with a red x on it...i can get on the internet, i am able to get an ip address, but when i try to get into my network and sharing center windows just displays a white screen. I've downloaded and installed dell's drivers for Vista Home Premium, and i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my existing drivers.

I have installed Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, on a Dell Dimension E521. fyi.

Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Any help would be apprieciated.

Thanks.

Woot go linney and go google groups! man oh man i cant tell you how much i searched google/yahoo/lycos/ask.com and came up with the same thing.

I did this in system restore with command prompt when i restarted my pc i selected F8 and selected that option, in the command prompt there i entered:

Net localgroup Administrators localservice /add

it will tell you something like command entered/exceuted successfully, restart the PC back to my desktop...at first it showed me my red ex again, then it detected the change, and it allows me into my networking and sharing center!

i would assume you could just do this in Vista without restarting into safe mode by doing:

Start>Run>cmd

Net localgroup Administrators localservice /add

Restart PC/see if changes are made immeadiately but the restart into safe mode worked fine for me.

thanks again linney!

You're welcome. Google is the first place I try for any problem solving tips.
