My connection seems to keep dropping when I try to do anything that requires opening a table on my server. It comes back at me with a "Catastrophic Failure" message. When I work on my local drive everything is fine. I am able to log onto the server fine and view all the tables but it is when I try to open them this happens. Does anyone know why the connection might be dropping. I know that I have plenty of RAM that this should not happen. It was working fine the other day.
Thank you!

when you are getting the "Catastrophic Failure" message on the server how are you trying to access the records?

Yes. No matter if I just want to return all row or go into the table through design view it comes back with the "catastrophic failure" message. This also happens when I try to create a new table as well. I haven't tried to delete a table for the obvious resons that I can't create a new one.

Also this afternoon I uninstalled SQL and reinstalled it making sure that I installed service packs 1,2&3. Still getting the same message.

Reinstalling MDAC should hopefully fix it (microsoft data access components), (incidentally, do you know what version you are running?)
