I am connecting to a remote server via remote desktop. We have recently installed SQLBase 8.0 at the home server. We have some new XP computers on our end, and a 2000. When I try to establish an ODBC connection to the new XP computers I get the 08001 error message. I have no problems with our 2000 machines. I have uninstalled/ and reinstalled the ODBC drivers from the SQL base CD, and get the same results every time. Can any one help?

hi,
i had the same connection problem to a sqlbase 7.0.1 database server. I solved the problem by :
- to enter the place where your sql.ini file is located to the path. you can modify the path by right-clicking on the "my computer" icon on you desktop. choose properties and go to the tab "advanced". select environment variables and there you'll find system variables. you'll find the path and there enter in path the location of your sql.ini file.
this solved my problem
goodluck
