Connection drops after 15 minutes

I am using Windows XP and a stadard dial up connection for my internet access. All i s okay but my session drops after 15 minutes and I have to redialup. I understand there is a idle time but I am using the session when it drops.

Any ideas or pointers.

Are you using a firewall at all? Your ISP may be pinging you to check all is ok and if the firewall is preventing the ping from returning so your ISP could think all is not ok so disconnects you?

What phone do you use? Do you connect your modem cable using a splitter? Try disconnecting the phone completely and just have you modem cable going into the socket...
