Connecting two DCs together

I am going to setup 2 servers which I plan to connect together over a VPN.

What do I need to setup the servers as they are in remote locations: I guess a different IP range, how would I map that so the connection is transparent? Or am I heading the wrong way altogher?

Server1 - 192.168.2.100/255.255.255.128
Server2 - 192.168.3.100/255.255.255.128

If you are going to have servers at multiple locations, then I am going to assume you are going to have users at these locations as well and obviously an internet connection. Having multiple users indicates a router at each end. I would recommend setting up a Branch Office VPN in which the VPN connection is negociated between the routers and is therefore transparent to the users or servers at the locations as logically they are all on the same network now.

Thanks for the reply.

Your assumptions are correct. I plan to connect the sites over broadband connections using 2 Draytek Vigor routers as endpoints.

I haven't done this yet, are you saying that the routers will connect using the same subnets? I thought that each end needed a unique subnet to work, and then have the subnets merged using the ROUTE command?

Am I overcomplicating things?
