I have two offices, one in Philly and one just across the river in Camdem. Needless to say, the cost of calling back and forth between them is racking up close to $1,000 a month. I have been quoted much less for a point to point T1 and I was wondering if I can use that to connect the two ACS systems, effectively creating one large extension pool. Even if the only thing I can do is intercom across systems, that would be great (transfering calls would be even better). Anyone have any ideas on this?

If your customer has broadband internet, with a static IP on at least on end, check out Multitechs MVP200, it will give you FXO and FXS capabilities over the internet, and the sound isn't bad, use one sta port and one line port at each end, and use a FXO and FXS at each end, ties them together. You can read more at Multitechs web.
Equipment cost was less the 2K for all.

Hey gene1,

How much experience do you have with the multitechs? Although this isn't the legend/magix forum, we are proposing to tie two Magixs together with Multitech products using their ISP and VPN. The only question is if this is even worth the effort or should we just bite the bullet and become authorized in VoIP. I guess the question I'm asking is how is the voice quality for day to day, even hour to hour use?

jinxs, I have only used the application once so far, customer seems happy with it, I know from past experience with voice over sdsl, you may need to limit data app's when using the voice end,, customer will hear if voice starts to degrade. There are some devices to do same on demand, but as of yet I haven't had the need to install any.

Or, you could wait a few weeks for the rel6 ACS that will accept a T1.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm going to start looking into Rel 6 and if that doesn't pan out, I'll get my hands on a pair of Multitechs. I have an 11Mbps wireless link between the two offices so bandwidth shouldn't be an issue.
