I have two Access Databases, one contains a staff table, with a field called "staffid", the other database contains an "Import" table, for each import a staffid must be associated. Any Idea on how to link these two databases???

Thanks

Sam

DB1 contains the base data, DB2 the import table. Open DB1, choose File | Get External Data then import or Link Tables as required.

Import will copy all the table rows from the selected table in DB2, while Link Tables will merely provide you with a link into the table that remains in the source database and will be signified by a little arrow pointing to the right on the left hand side of the table name in table view.

If you've linked a table, you can still work completely happily with the table as if it was "local"
