We have two 3300 ICP located in different area, and would like to connect them together through SIP Trunks, both systems licensed for SIP Trunks, currently they are connected via IP trunking, they work fine,

SIP trunking will be the second alternative in case the IP link fails,(often facing issues from the service Provider).this beside the increased cost of this solution

Anybody can provide concrete programming steps to connect these two 3300 together?

Thanks in advance,,

Wouldn't the IP trunking and the SIP trunking be using the same media path and therefore be affected by the same service provider issues ?

The sip trunking would be directly bet5ween the controllers , same as the Ip networking is ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks Billz66 for your response,

yes the SIP trunking will be linking the sys. as the IP trunking

two different service providers offer the services, so different routes and medias,

how are you managing that seeing as the IP trunks should be directed to the IP address of the controllers
and so should the SIp trunks ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

when the link is OK, every thing go smoothly,(as IP trunking)

but when link goes down we lose the connectivity with the remote site, for some hrs!!!

the other SP covers the same area with enhanced features and routes,

so I am planing to get The IP & SIP links as a backup for each other,

If the provider is disrupting your path between the 2 sites, the method you're using to interconnect them won't matter, it will still go down.

so if you can route the IP to the other site via the other service provider as a secondary link , the IP trunks should re-establish

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks Billz,

i wanted just to compare the two services and do some practice on connecting the two sites through SIP trunks and finding out the featurse that will be lost or unavailable by using the SIP trunks,

Thanks again Billz and if you still have the programming tips for this hope you can share it with me,
