I have a 2000IPS and a 2000IVS that I am planning to connect together with an ISDN circuit. I have two 24PRTA-B cards which I plan to use. Will this work? Is there any problems I might encounter?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry it won't work. The IVS will only support the 24DTA with SC01 card. Also the NEAX 2000 does not support end to end ISDN PRI as it can only be assigned as a USER and not as NETWORK.
It does however support QSIG between the 2 systems which is for a better term end to end ISDN tie lines. You will need the SC01 QSIG controller card with the 24DTA or 24DTA-A card in the IVS and in the IPS the 24PRTA/QSIG or the 24DTA/QSIG card.

Connecting these 2 systems should be done with CCIS. Then you get all the features with Voice Mail compatibilty over the link which you would not get if you used QSIG.

Picking up the pieces here on this install and continuing. We got the CCTA24 cards and have installed these with the licences and this seems to be fine. I have done the below programing on both systems (changing the point code on B) and this seems to be fine. I followed the manual programing. I have also programed the LCR for this. However, I do not get the green LC light lit on either card but no red fault lights either. If I dial the station, it gives a slow busy signal. The only indication is that there is possibly a hardware connection problem. How can I check this and is there anything else I need to do to get this CCIS link up and running? Thanks in advance.

Some further developement, I did a loopback test on both cards. It brings on the LC lamp as well as making one channel busy and brings on the Clock in signal on the MP card. Seems that both cards are working as well as the cables. However, when connecting them, there is no LC light.

Since you are using channel 22 of the 24ccta card do you have sw 1-4 in the off position?

Also check SW 2 and make sure that each side has the EXACT same settings.

Checked this and the settings on SW2 where different so amended this and the green LC lamp is now lit on both cards so looks like they are talking. However, it also shows up a busy channel on both cardsd and when trying to call, it gives a busy signal. Any ideas on this? Thanks

Did you reset the PBX's after completing the programming and run an EC6?

What lamp are you seeing lit? Is it solid, blinking fast or slow?

Ok, got this working now. Apparently CCIS always has one channel busy, d channel, that shows up. When you dial accross it then another channels gets busy at which point the lamp blinks fast as 2 or more channels are busy. Other than that chaning SW2 to the same as well as all the settings in command 30, 35 did the trick. Thank you very much. Simon

Ps: I did call an NEC technician as well on this for 1 hour so we are all happy.

Just when we thought it was all working...
I can now call stations but I cannot access any trunks through the CCIS. Any ideas on this? I took out any trunk restrictions on both sides and set to allow. Right now the trunk I want to access is accessed by dialing 88 on site A. I want to dial 88 from site B and pick up that trunk to make phone calls. Right now I have CMD 200,88,A129 through trunk group 30, route 30 which is my ccis route.
Any Ideas?
