A dept in my company just setup an ACT! server which uses MS SQL Server 2000 as the back-end. Unfortunately, it appears that ACT installs a hacked up version of SQL Server in that none of the GUI tools are installed on that server. We are not allowed to have the sa password either. Apparently, wanting to maintain our own server violates the contract with the ACT software company.
I've found the instance name of the setup, but none of the administrative accounts I have access to are able to access the instance. (I'm guessing built-in group admin rights have been removed.)
Anyone have any experience with this and any suggestions as to how I can get back into this server to cover my tail?
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
