Folks, I have been tasked with supporting some Linux servers for my client. In order to be able to use the internet I need to configure my browser settings in order to use a proxy server. This is fine if I am using Windows and Mozilla/Firefox on the Linux GUI, unfortunately this server is very barebones in terms of config (no GUI desktops or X-Windows).
So my question now is how to I use something like up2date (or Redhat network) in order to download patches to the server if I have to go through a proxy server. Please advise. Thanks.

That's gr8 QatQat, I'll give it a shot (btw love the signature line LOL)

I got it to work, by putting my proxy setting, plus username and password into the network config file.
A bit jitty since it is almost two years since i have done it.
