hi,
i have just installed solaris 8 on a machine which is on a proxied network.
Does anyone know what steps i have to go through inorder to connect to my proxy to use the internet.
I have set the /etc/defaultrouter to my proxies address. I also cannot get to the proxy setting of my browser which should come up when i click the advance tab. Does my proxy server need to be down for this.
Also i was browsing around in the /.netscape folder and notice a file called lonindep.dat, which when i opened cotained a session id which was my proxy address and a client id which was empty, so i input my machines ip address, and then i could ping to my proxy. Can someone tell what i actually did there, and what that file does.
What other solutions are there to my problem and is this common with solaris 8.
Thanks
