connecting to sql server using c#

Another thing to add, I can connect to the database by doing it visually through using the server explorer. If I do it that way how do I bring back data and add it to a database. Its strange that i can connect to the server this way but not any other.

ignore that last point, i cant connect both ways but i cant login either way even though i can query the database through the sql server query analyser
