I've always had a hard time getting the right cable. I got a RAD that I now brought home for testing purposes. Here is my question :

Should I be able to CONNECT to the RAD (direct connect) if the RAD itself isn't currently connected to a system ? So far i'm just getting RAD DID NOT RESPOND from NRU. (but i'm not so sure about the cables i'm using)

If I WAS using the correct cables, would I still be getting that error message or would it be something different. (like "the rad isn't connected to a system dummy") ... I just wanna know that I have the proper cable...

Thanks for your input ..

rad needs to be connected to a digital port on a KSU and programmed thru a set to be access then via a pc

Just plug the rad into any avalible port on the system.
Use a regular base cord for a phone. Rad pass word and baude must be set. Set to answere line for direct dail in.

yeah I know how to connect and program it. I just don't have a system here in my apartment. I was hoping i'd get some OTHER error message if NRU could SEE the rad but wasn't configured properly or something.

Guess I need to borrow a system too !!

Sounds like none of us have tried it, either... let us know if you get it to work.

I've got a rad in the van I use a lot. I've gotta work all this weekend, but I'll try it next week.
