My source database is Microsoft SQL 2000. Informatica is installed on Unix Platform. What steps to take to create DSN(connection string) on Unix for SQL server so that I can give connection type as ODBC in workflow Manager? If I select connection type as SQL Server in Workflow Manager the session fails. Hence I am considering ODBC.

I also have the same problem with SQL Server, I can access My SQL Server in Designer. But I tried many ways in Workflow Manager to access SQL Server (including ODBC), no one works!
Always a connection problem.

Please state the exact error message that you receive...

What version of Informatica are you running and is it 32 or 64bit...?
Remember that Designer uses your LOCAL MACHINES ODBC entries to connect to source or target databases. Once you run the session your SERVER setup takes over.
1. Make sure you have the correct ODBC drivers on the SERVER.
2. The Informatica UNIX user has the required rights to these ODBC drivers
3. The ODBC drivers and ODBC.INI directory (file) is stated in your UNIX PROFILE.
4. Remeber to have exactly the same NAMING description in your ODBC.INI file as you set your connection in Informatica.
