Here goes:

Can telnet on ports 25 and 110 to server.domain.co.uk thru a firebox firewall ok. Not a problem and can see and get a response from IMS on that servers 5.5. When pointing the route from the firebox from that one which works to another one on the same network and domain. It gets thru the firewall again OK but does not get to the recipient ip address and thus I get a cannot connect message.

Some help with this would be most appreciated as I am babbling now it has taken so long to fix.

Is it a corrupt IMS....

HI.

This could be an IP routing issue.
Can you ping the server from the firewall?
What is the default gateway of the server?
Are there routers in between?

Your question is missing many details..

Try also asking in the relevant firewall forum, and provide more details.

Cheers.

It's a Watchguard Firebox and u can't ping direct from these to a device however I do see the packet being accepted in.

The servers dfg is the firebox the same as the other server that works. There are no routers inbetween.

Which firewall forum should I look in?
