Hi

We have setup Met XP FR3 on a few machines, with the first one being the Datastore owner on an access database.

With subsequent machines we have connected fine to that datastore as part of the XP setup by providing a user that has admin control over the server farm.

What i want to know is, if we change the password of that user at all, will the connectivity to the datastore fail to the other servers, or is it just a 1 time authentication ?

Thanks

Andy

It is authenticated at least everytime you reboot your server. However, you can reconfigure your datastore connection by using the "dsmaint /config" command. You would change the password on the datastore server, then on each of the other servers you would run the dsmaint /config command with the new password. I can't remember the exact syntax, but you can get it by using /?.
