Hey everyone,

I hope that I posted this in the right section. My problem is I am trying to connect a shared external drive via the LAN. I am able to create the share drive and map to it. However, when I try to connect to it via another computer on the network I am unable to do so. Please tell me what am I doing wrong or how should I go about doing it?

Thanks in advance.

Since you do not tell us how you are trying to connect I can not tell you what you are doing wrong. Once you have your share set up with permissions go to the other computer and in windows explorer click tools map network drive pick a drive letter and type in the folder field type \\computername\sharename put check mark in reconnect at log in if you wish and click finish. Depending on how you set up your permissions you may need to use the connect using a different user name option. Good luck
