Im working on this proyect, i have on one office a KX TDA200 pbx that has an kx-tda0484 (ip gw4e), i want to connect this voip trunk to an kx-T616 that is in another office, the offices are connected trough a VPN. The trouble is that the T616 doesnt work with voip cards, so ive researched several voip fxs gateways but they all seem to work with SIP, and i cant find where to configure SIP on the tda0484. Perhaps a firmware upgrade will allow this? or do i need a different gateway? thanks..

That card is for setting up tie lines between a tda/tde/ncp
if you have 7000 or 7300 or 7700 series phones on the 616 by that card and TDA 50 put a tda5484 and have a seamless system and they can share the voicemail or add a ESVM for private voicemail!!

or you could forget about gateway connect 2 or 3 analog exts to fxo/fxs voip box connect it to the vpn to the other fxo/fxs voip box you would have analog line to connect to 2 or 3 open co line ports on the 616 but would be a cob job :(

Thanks for your advice, i didnt quite get it though, your first proposal was installing a card to the t616? i tried searching but didnt find it.

The second proposal was using 2 voip boxes to set up a trunk without using the TDA0484? i would love using it becuase i already own it and i would save some money by using it.

perhaps i can set up an asterisk/elastix server to set up the tie lines? with an fxs card to plug it in to the T616

Again, thanks...

you wont be able to use the kx-tda0484 with asterisk either as it is a gateway and not a sip trunk, best way is to use voip box's as CWC said or change the kxt616 control unit.

Can the taw 824 take a gateway(we dont have that here)

Nope the TAW Does not have a gateway card but would have been a perfect solution if it did !!

IF you have second generation hybrid phones let me clarify you need a ipsec VPN between both locations and TDA 50g with TDA5484 in it and two TDA5176 and 1 TDA5180 to have seamless integration pro's caller id if you buy the cards and you have 7030's 7730's etc . Central voicemail or private voicemail with a ESM or TVA 50 con's getting tech support....

Again, your help is very much appreciated !!

Well ive been looking into the voip box option, would this one work with the tda0484? i plug it in into the vpn and the fxs to an fxo at the t616?

Or was the tda0484 designed to work just with panasonic hardware?

that link goes nowhere.

that card is used only to link panasomic systems

I don't need links the gateway cards are I will repeat
FOR KX-TDA ONLY no KX-T no KX-TD no KX-TA no KX-TAW no no no !!!

As far as how you plan to cob it we are not interested !!!
