I have installated a mandrake snf 7.2 with an ethernet modem (192.168.0.1).
This server works very fine as a firewall and internet access sharing in a lan with two clients: windows xp and windows 95.

Recentely I have add to this lan a samba serveur (192.168.0.99) for printing and files sharing. This services works but I cannot have an access to the internet via the snf7.2 server. I need this access because I want to have an easy internet update for mandrake 6.1

Thank you for your help.

have you set up default route on 192.168.0.99 to 192.168.0.1

ie

route add 0 192.168.0.1

yes, I have already type the following command:

route add default gw 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 eth0

thank you

now the connection works and I can make updates

The internet connection on samba server works but very slow.
There is no speed problem on windows clients

I have only change the /etc/resolv.conf by adding the name server of my ISP.

thank you for your help.
