Recently one of my clients connected several phones offsite about 8 miles away with several Norstar analog ports. These remote SL phones are Norstar extensions with own Norstar DID#s. They bought a MultiVOIP hardware solution that integrates voice and fax into existing data network to do this.

Now they want to connect another location to Norstar with a phone and a fax on remote end, each with a Norstar DID#.

My question is how best to advise them - go back to Vendor from last time, Norstar Gateway or MCK extender from me?

Multitech works great with fax and uses little bandwidth.
Cheaper than Norstar IP gateway and does not require additional cards to provide DTMF receivers.
Not too sure if MCK will provide good fax capability for remote ATA.
Stick with the Multitech.
SPP only uses 14k of bandwidth MVP210 provides two ports.
They also support Norstar E&M line card ports and provide remote internal paging via DISA.

I have used MCK to support SL devices and it works good. I installed ATA's at remote site to connect fax & cordless phones in warehouse, also connected to remote paging. They used a point to point T-1 half for data & half for voice. It was pricey but it worked and supported upto 12 digital or analog ports.

What kind of network are you using to connect both sites together?

I've used Multitech and MCK with mostly positive results.

Another option is qtelnet.com
