Hi all,

Not an IP Office question, I know, however cant seem to find any forums for Avaya`s ageing INDeX system!!

I have had a query today asking whether you can connect an iPod to the INDeX, which you can, however the sound is awful.

I suspect this is the lead connecting the two and wondered if anyone knows what type of lead if any would connect the iPod headphone jack to the jack underneath the INDeX

Bit of a stab in the dark really this one but if anyone can answer would be most appreciated!!!

Cheers

The index platform has used 2 types of Jack for MOH.

although they are bothe 3mm stereo plugs the earliest cabinets used a japaneese standard blug which is a little longer than the more common european standard used on all the other cabinets.

The index input is also Mono which will giove poor sound if the music supplied has a lot of stereo seperation.

and as a final note the heradphone output of some equipment does not have enough power to fully drive the Index input.
