I am working on a customer that has an old 81C and they bought a Shortel. They want to call from Dallas on their Shortel throught the Austin Shortel and out the local T1's on the Nortel to make local calls.I can call from the Nortel to the Dallas Shortel and out locally in Dallas, but when they call from Dallas to Austin the call fails. We get reorder tone. On the Tie between the Shortel and the Nortel, D Channel messaging says "unassigned number". I have turn on Trunk to Trunk but I can not get it to work. They don't have the QSIG package on the Nortel, so the Tie is built at NI2. Any ideas anyone.

I'm thinking your NCOS 0 is probably the culprit in the route and trunks. Set it as high as a set would be to make the same call.

We tried this, but ultimately we had to use straight T1 programming (No Dchannel) to get it to work. It is up and working fine like this, just no CLID information.

Checked NCOS on all trunks and they were set to 0.

I have been told they can't be DID and I ahave been told they can't be TIE. Same animal, different color.

They should be built TIE with an NCOS on the route and trunks high enough to match the FRL in the RLI to place the call. An NCOS of 0 is probably restricting everything but internal calls.

I don't have a switch with that old of software but I have seen this issue on our 6.0 and newer systems and we had to turn DITI to yes in NET_DATA.

Not sure what release DITI was added.
