Does anybody know how I can connect a standard PC monitor to a HP9000 r2400 server. We've got an HP graphics card installed in the machine but whenever we connect a monitor to it, the referesh rate on the monitor looks screwed! As if the graphics card is puching out a higher frequency than what the monitor can handle?

It's a new monitor 19" and can handle the usual multiple refresh rates.

Do we need a converter or HP monitor?

Which OS are you using? Most drivers allow you to specify a resolution/refresh rate to the monitor. Cut it down to 800x600 @ 60Hz and see if that works. It is possible you have it setup to put out something the monitor is incapable to display.
