Hi,

Can i connect my toshiba laptop HD to my the motherboard in my Tower ?

I dropped the laptop and windows is crashing so i need to retrieve any valuable data from it.

Thanks, shaun

Yes, its possibly. You only need to have a converter, because the 2,5 needs to be connected to a normal IDE port. Shouldn't cost anymore then $ 10,--.

Thanks !

So i need a 2.5 to IDE converter ? is that correct terminology ?

Shaun

Another options is a usb box. You mount your 2.5" laptopdrive and hook it up your system through an usb port.
The box is more expensive, say $50-60 (usb1.1) but you don't have to open up your computer. Windows XP reconises the drive and you handle like any other drive.

check out:

Thanks very much!
