I have a business, which to make a long story short, sold off one department. This new business came in and installed a CICS to run that dept only. They want to be able to transfer calls back and forth between the systems, and claim it can be dome by attaching ATA's to both systems (which in turn connect to a LS/DS trunk card on the other system). The MICS does have an unused ASM. I'm not sure how this works as far as tying them together, and what kind of programming needs done. Got any ideas???

get an ata2 for the mics side and use the ata on the cics side which is the yellow slate on the co block. cross connect the ata,s to the opposite sides system co port. when a call comes in, press transfer and the the co button that you put the other systems ata on.

make sure unassign all lines and line pool access to both ata's. so they can't access each others lines

Is it possible to use the existing ASM that is attached to the MICS, rather than adding ATA's? The MICS is about out of digital ports, I don't want to use them up if I don't have to..

Suggest to reverse one ATA.
Trunk to ATA on MICS
ATA to Trunk on CICS

This way both side can do the same transfer method...to the ATA's DN.

Keep in mind only one path at a time per ATA while in use.

Thanks -

They are requesting two ATA's on each system, so I guess they'll have two paths going each direction. I just don't understand why they want it setup to where you have to press 7 to get there?? Wouldn't you just have to dial the extension????

if you set up the routing properly where one site is 221 ext
and the other is 321 ext.
then they could have blind dialing and not know they are 2 systems

HALLOWED ARE THE ORI

Site A:
System A MICS- 1 ATA to spare Trunk port 1 on system B CICS
System A MICS- 2nd ATA to spare Trunk port2 on system B CICS

Site B:
System B CICS- 1 ATA to spare Trunk port 1 on system A MICS
System B CICS- 2nd ATA to spare Trunk port2 on system A MICS

Both sites as example:
Program all trunks above into Pool C
Program Access Code = 7
Program all sets to allow access to Pool C

User - Dial 7 and ext#

Is there AA or human and which site?
