We have are connected to a remote site by a T1 using cisco 2600s. We have also have a voice line connected to that remote site that uses a T1 but because it is rarely in use we would like to split that T1 and combine it with our data T1 to increase our available bandwidth. Our 2600 only supports a T1. We are wondering if it is possible to combine the full T1 with some of the channels from the other T1 that we are not using, run that combined line into an external CSU/DSU and then connect the combined channels into our router. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I'm not clear on what you are trying to say here, however on the 2600 routers you can load balance the 2 t1's . This will work if the spans are point to point . Another option would be to compress the data , using a AIM ( advance intergration Module ) this card is installed inside the router . This will aggregate both spans .

We are not trying to load balance. We have a seperate T1 that we are using for our phone system and another T1 line that connects our sites (point to point) using the 2610s. Since we are not using all the T1 channels on the voice line we want to take some of the channels from the voice T1 and combine it with the T1's between the routers. We aren't sure how many channels we will be taking from the voice but we are thinking what ever the increment is that we can run it into an external modems and then run a V.35 connector into the routers.
