I have 1 G3iV4 and I want to connect it to a G1 which will reside about 1300 feet away in another building, I have a 50 pair copper cable between the 2 buildings and all I'm looking for is connectivity between the switches to call back and forth and to forward from one to the other, nothing fancy. What will I need to do this?

You could go for a E&M Tie Line you world need a TN760 in both systems. Onne card in each would give you 4 trunk-lines.

Another possibility migh be a DS1 in both that would give you 24 or 30 channels depending on E1 or T1. Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.

I'm looking for a solution that doesn't include the phone company, both of your solutions will work but I do believe I would have to get the phone company involved.

Telman22, I think what Europe was trying to say was using a set of your copper pairs,
Normally you'd be able to hook 2 systems up by connecting 2 DS1's directly, so without using your telco, using 2 copper pairs.

The recommenation for connecting the G3i to the G1 without using the "phone company" is to convert the G1 to an EPN, run a fiber optic cable in place of the copper between the two buildings and connect the now converted G1 to an EPN to the G3i via expansion interfaces and short range transceivers.

I can assist you with equipment and technical assistance to make this conversion.
