Just brought up a new 2003 server. When trying to connect using http:/<servername>/connectcomputer it fails. No messages, it just fails. Suggestions?

It sounds like you're having problems joining the domain from a client/user system.

Just to double check, you're using the servers IP as the clients DNS?

Also you're sure you're trying //servername/connectcomputer and not //serverIP/connectcomputer using the IP has always failed in my experience.

Lastly check that the browser doesn't use a pop up blocker.
Each client will probably need to install software from the server and if you've a pop up blocker enabled it could be preventing that window from surfacing thus preventing the software from being installed.

Let us know how you progress...

How is hte client machine getting its IP & DNS settings? Is the workstation using the SBS box's IP for it's DNS (it should).

I am running rather than using the IP address. The clients DNS is setup to the SBS IP address. The client is set to a static IP address. The browser does not have a popup blocker running.

More suggestions?
