I'm wondering if anyone else is having more trouble than usual connecting to ACS R7 and R8 processors with a RAC? I used to be able to connect to processors with a US Robotics external modem, then I started having trouble and I found a post on the tek-tips website here thread688-1056055 Which explained how to setup the US Robotics modem to be able to connect to processors remotely (thanks to jjdad for that). Now on new processors I can no longer connect with a standard US Robotics modem or with one that has been modified as per the thread above. By the way I still have an old ACS R7 processor that I am able to connect to. Anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance.

With the new ACS R8 processor you have to use the latest R8.0.0.4 Remote Access Software and it is backward compatible with all prior SW versions. Should connect the same as before .... and contrary to what alot have reported - you can use any of the remote access cards to connect to the R7 & R8 ... this is from direct info from Avaya's Partner Development Team Manager. Hope that helps.

The R8.0.0.4 RAS is downloadable from Avaya's website @

Yes, I did forget to mention that I downloaded the 8.0.0.4 software. Have you been able to connect to 7.0 with the (O patch) processors still? The one I have here has a serial number beginning with 08 so it was manufacturered last year. Is it the O patch? Maybe something got changed in the O patch?
