mac 10.4

Hi I have been trying to connect a mac 10.4 to a share on the server 2003 machine. I am using smb. From what I read on the net, I do not need to have Apple talk on the server.

Many people talk about registry edits on the server. Please can some one advise me.

Thanks very much in advance.

So far the mac is connected to the network. I can ping the server, go on the net etc. From the go menu I try to connect to the server. enter the following: smb://192.168.0.1/sharename. It asks for a username and password. I enter my network username and password and that is as far as I go.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks
