Hi

When a client connect to the server, the server reads what printers that are connected to the client, and make them availeble to the client.

Is it possible to map a clients network connection.
We have different areas upon our LAN. Each user has access to special areas. When they log on the server, and wish to open a file on the network, they can only open there local drive and the servers drive.

How do you map the clients network connection, at login ?

If these network connections are on the same LAN as the citrix servers, yes. If they are only on the clients's LAN, I do not think so. Because you are really mapping a drive on the Metaframe server and it has to be able to "see" it.
So, the user will have to transfer files from metaframe to their local pc and then to their network location on their LAN.

Why don't you do:-

Net Use ?: \\Client\?:

Where "?" is the drive letter you want to map!

Also, place this in usrlogon.cmd and you will do it for all users upon logon!

Carl.

You can map a local network drive to the metaframe server? I mean a networked drive that is only present on the local network not in the metaframe location? Didn't think this was possible.

Hi,

If you mean that the client has a G: drive mapped to \\Server\Share1 then you can do the following:-

Net Use G: \\Client\G$

And this will give you access to the G drive on the client, which is actually shared through the ICA client.

I do that here!

Cheers,
Carl.
