connect and disconnect with sniffer portable 4.7 token ring

Desktop W2K SP3; IE6 ; WM9

when i launch sniffer portable 4.75

im disconnect/reconnect every second on my token ring PCI card

i need to reboot to stop this ? help ?

Little less info, but if you call support the following will problably asked / told to you:

downgrade to SP2, this is the officially supported SP for Win2K (See release notes)

What type of card and drivers are you using?

I don't think it has anything to do with IE6 or WM, this looks more like a driver or physical problem. If you have the possibility make a trace with another Sniffer to see what is happening on the ring.

it must be SP3, because it was working with W2K SP2 before.

But i don't know if it was with sniffer pro 4.6 or with portable 4.75 the new one

It doesn't work !!!

I install a new system with :
W2K_FR - SP2 - IE5.0 -
IBM 16_4 Token ring PCI Adaptater 2
then : same pb


before i install my new system, it was working fine on an english version of W2K_SP2

I anderstand nothing !

That is bad,
I know that there are (ore were) some problems with sniffer running on other language operating systems. I don;t know if you have the possibility to do an install on a UK Win2K version to try again.

I always install averything on UK version. There is somewhere on the forum a post about problems with a German windows version and runnig sniffer.

then next tuesday i will try to :

1.
Uninstall sniffer portable 4.70.534
install sniffer pro 4.6

if it doesn't work
2.
uninstall IE6-SP1 on my W2K_SP2_FR
install IE5_SP2

if it doesn't work
3.
install W2k_UK

if it doesn't work
4.
install XP_PRO_fr

and if it doesn't work
5.
I will contact Network Associates support

It's working sometime with few net traffic.

i tried it on W2k_UK_FR / WP
