We have a database in SQL Server 2008 and need to develop some reports in Web Intelligence.

How can we do it, and what are de pre reqs?

SQL Server 2008 / Windows Server 2003

BO Server 4 / Linux

thanks.

I do not know what de pre reqs is. But I am pretty sure that Webi only takes a Universe as a data source. Thus you will have to develop a Universe on your BO 4 system (use Universe Design Tool, not Information Design Tool).

To add to what kray4660 posted, you'll also have to create a connection to the database on your Linux server. I suspect you'll have to use an ODBC connection with a db driver from some place like DataDirect because Microsoft does not provide database drivers for Linux.

For WEBI reports you can connect to a Universe or other datasources are Text/Excel files or Web Services. Unfortunately you will have to create a universe that connects to your SQL data source. m
Otherwise you can use Crystal reports it can connect with an ODBC directly to the database.
Good Luck.

I set drivers 32 and 64 bits, but we have this error trying to update data in the webi report:

Database error: [DataDirect]
[ODBC lib] System information file not found.
Please check the ODBCINI environment variable..
