Hello,

We have a Mitel 3300 in our main location, and two in different satellite locations. Each are on the local networks in each location, and each have POTS (no PRI). We have a 20Mbps fiber optic line in our main location, and 5Mbps business connections on the others.

What is the best and most affordable way to connect the systems so I can phone from a set in one location to a set in another location? (directly, and so it shows the name of the caller's extension)

If it helps, in the Mitel licensing, each has 1 license purchased for "Digital Links" under the "Trunking/Networking" section.

When we orriginally purchased the setup, we didn't have enough bandwidth, but I think we can do it now.

Any suggestions?

The best option would be to go with IP trunks between sites. That gives you full feature transparency, the ability to have key appearances of phones on the other sites through DSS/BLF and if you have hot desk users they can go to the other sites and login with there extension number following them

SIP trunks could be the next option although you don't get all the features.

Now pricing is different. Digital links is only for a PRI, you need an IP network license for IP trunks. You don't say what load you are running but Mitel changed their licensing between MCD 4 and 5. If you had multiple controllers you could get classified as an Enterprise and IP trunks if you are classified as Standard you have to pay for the IP trunks. Sip trunks are cheaper then Ip trunks.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
