Strongm

Same goes for me. You've always came up with the
[idea] solutions.

Thanks for the time you give!!!!

I agree as well. Strongm always comes up with the answers to some of the most obscure questions and baffles me with his knowledge. Thanks for all your help over the years. [spin]

strongm - I thank you for all the stuff I've learned from you over the years. I consider you to be a veritable fount of VB knowledge.

Thanks all for your comments.

I just need to point out that it is the environment (i.e tek-tips) that helps. By that I mean that apart from the odd occasion I always feel that what I'm trying to say or explain is appreciated by somebody, that it has helped them. I like the fact that, in general, forum members are not expecting cookie-cutter cut-n-paste solutions.

And I like the fact that every now and again a fresh, unexplored problem comes up that makes me stretch for a solution - and makes me want to try an share it.

If none of the above were true I wouldn't still be here or I wouldn't still be contributing much worthwhile.

(and I'm not a programmer ...)

As a professional "lurker" here at tek-tips, I must say that strongm demonstrates the right combination of knowledge and guidance. Sure, it's great that he shares his wealth of knowledge but I find it's equally important that he guides others to obtain solutions on their own. Teach a man to fish instead of giving him the fish!

Thanks strongm!

strongm,

You are the best expert and teacher with the kindest heart!

Yep, he's contributed loads, and don't forget that it's not just the OP's he helps out. It's also those of us who spend an hour or two on a search, just to find a near ready-made solution, usually backed up with a detailed explaination.

We really appreciate it! Nice one! :-D

I was directed to this site by a friend a few years back when I started my first VB project. At the time I just wanted to get through the project, I didn't plan on becoming so involved in the language.
It is because of people like strongm that make us want to learn why something works, not just how to do it.
Thank you for all the help and know you are appreciated.

Congrats, strongm!

I've always been more than impressed with your insight, competence, and meticulousness, strongm. I've often been surprised by your ability to further simplify already tight code. By the example that you set, you have taught me to look deeper into problems as they present themselves and to be a more careful thinker.

Best regards,

Bob

I think, all of us in this forum have learned a lot from you. Your excellent knowledge not only surrounds VB, but other aspects of Windows programming as well.

Congratulations and many thanks for sharing your knowledge and valuable time. We wish to see you here always as this forum does not complete without your presence.

Now you've gone and done it. 1000 stars! Congratulations.

strongm, you are an inspiration to all of us.

I wouldn't know VB if it jumped up and bit me on the rear, but I know strongm and agree he is worthy of the congratulations being given.

Way to go Mr strongm.
