Greetings,

I have two clients I access using Citrix and sometime last week, I can't access them anymore. I don't know of anything I have loaded, except for the Microsoft Critical Updates for XP2. I can turn my firewall off, and no luck. (it is norton). When I try to login, it gets to the "Negotiating Capabilities", and then nothing. It returns to the login screen.

Anyone have any ideas? I have another computer, and both Citrix accesses still work.

Thanks much!

Try deleting the MSLicense key in the registry on the client machine that doesn't work.

Greetings,

I searched the registry and I don't have a MSLicense entry. I have also scanned the hard disk using Norton, no problems there. Any further suggestions.

Thanks

On the client machine it is in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicenseing, or it should be.

Greetings,

This gave me access to one of my clients. When I try to access the other one, I get the error: Error Running the client. Any ideas on this one?

Thanks!

Do you have any entries from the event log that might tie with that error message?

Also, do you have session reliability enabled or disabled for the connection that continues to fail?

Have you tried simply creating a new connection for that location?

Greetings,

I am not a techie in this area. How do I get the event log? As far as session reliability enabled or disabled, I don't remember that question being ask.

I have delete the Citrix software from my system, rebooted, and reinstalled it. However, the connection that doesn't work is a web connection, and not a connection from the Citrix Program Neighborhood. Deleting the MSLicense key in the registry got my regular Citrix Connection to a different computer working properly.

Thanks for your help and please let me know if I can provide to you additional info.

Regards,

To access the entries in the event log:

Start-->Settings-->Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Event Viewer

What is the specific client application that you use to go over the Internet to connect to the Citrix server?

I cleared the event views and then ran the application. There was nothing in the application or system events. There was one entry in the security event. It referred to the clearing of the event logs.

The application that is running is the Web Interface for the Metaframe Presentation manager. I login successfully and get a screen that has a few "desktops". It is when I select any of them that I get the message "Error running the client".

Thanks for your help.

I would be reinstalling the client software for Citrix.

Greetings,

The fix was to uninstall the client, disassociate the file type ica with citrix in windows explorer, and reload citrix. It worked. I don't know why, but it worked.

Thanks for your help.
