Configuring XP to user the same time server as DC

I recently used the w32tm tool to configure my AD server to use (sync to) our internal time server. That works without any error issues. I was under the impression all clients using this DC will automatically be using the same time/time server as the DC but they are not. I run "Net time /querysntp", which returned a different time server than what my AD is using.

Is there a quick way to for all clients (XP and other Servers) to use the same time server as the domain controller?

All the workstations are currently using AD.

I think I managed to point the workstations to use the local time server by enabling NTP and adding the time server to the "time provider" under computer management in AD.

I looked at the event logs for two of my workstations and they both showed that: "the time server is now syncronizing the system time with the time source <mylocaltimeserver>".

However, when I do a <net time /querysntp>, it returns time.windows.com,0x1.

What gives?

When I do a <w32tm /monitor> from one of the workstations, I get:
<Domain> **PDC *** [IP]:
ICMP: 0ms delay.
NTP: +0.0000000s offset from <domain>
refID: (unknown) [my local time server's IP]

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I basically want to know how to verify that the clients are all using the local time server.

Thanks you

If you double left click on the time in the taskbar tray, you get a date and time properties box. There is a tab in that box called Internet time. On that tab's page, there is an option to synchronize with an Internet Time server. If that's checked, it will override your local time server.

iolair,
The option you describe isn't available when the PC is on a domain.

I did not know that. Thanks for teaching me something today. Good luck with solving your problem.
