Trying this for the first time, I followed the instructions on setting up 'stcapp' on a 2911 router for two FXS ports. When I do the "sho stcapp device sum" I see
Total Devices: 2
Total Calls in Progress: 0
Total Call Legs in Use: 0

Port Device Device Call Dev Directory Dev
Identifier Name State State Type Number Cntl
---------- --------------- -------- ------------- ------- ----------- ----
0/2/0 AN5539AB2600100 OOS UNREGISTERED ALG UNKN
0/2/1 AN5539AB2600101 OOS UNREGISTERED ALG UNKN

I can't seem to get the rest on the call manager side. I try setting up the ephone but the instructions on setting that up are a little vague. Here is what I set up on the router:
!
stcapp register capability 0/2/0 both
stcapp register capability 0/2/1 both

Not sure what I am missing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

have you added the gateway as a 2911 sccp in call manager and set up the FXS ports there as well? You have to do that as well to register them with cucm

I have the gateway setup as SCCP however I didn't see where you configure the FXS ports on the gateway. Sorry first time I've had to set this up. I appreciate your help.

Add a note that this is setup as a h.323 gateway not as a MGCP. I was under the impression that it was able to be set up as a h.323 gateway and work, is that correct?

h323, sccp and MGCP are three different protocols. In order to get sccp to work it needs proper configuration on the gateway and call manager site. Same goes for the other two. If you are mixing them up in one gateway then in call manager you need two gateway entries, one for h323 and one for sccp.
You need the gateway's mac address to use as an sccp gateway name in cucm

use these two links as a guide:

So you can have two different gateway's? I don't remember covering that in the training. OK I will create another SCCP Gateway for this location, I started to but stopped because I had the H.323 gateway already configured.

OK I setup the SCCP gateway and it worked! Actually easier then I thought. Thank you very much for your help..
