What are the files that i need to edit to configure my sun box for internet access? I'm running Solaris 8 on a Sun Ultra 5 Box. Someone please help!!!!!!!

/etc/nsswitch.conf hosts line:

hosts: files nis dns

/etc/resolve.conf

nameserver [ip-address-of-namesvr]

the above assumes that you've set your default gateway to a router or switch on your subnet that knows how to get to the nameservers subnet....you can test the results with nslookup or ping. remember you probably won't get a response from ping but you shouldn't get "ping: unknown host [hostname]"
