Configuring Lantronix UDS-10

Has anybody configured the Lantronix UDS-10 device server to work with the Definity over the terminal port and then access with ASA? I have a Precidia on my Definity in Denver that works great. Can't seem to get the Lantronix unit to work though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm new with this company, but they already have a UDS-10 up and running...here is the instructions I found.
PROGRAMMING THE LANTRONIX UDS-10


Parts Shipped with Unit
1 – Lantronix UDS-10
1 – Power Supply
1 – Male to Male DB25 Cross Over Cable

Parts You will need
1- Straight through DB25 Cable
IP address
Gateway address
Net Mask

You will also need a LAN connection and AC power at the back of the PBX.

INSTRUCTIONS ON PROGRAMMING

Connect a standard DB25 straight through cable (don’t use the above cross over cable) from the UDS-10 device and a serial connection on a PC. You will access the UDS device using Hyper Terminal. Open up Hyper Terminal and set your com port for 9600, 8 Data Bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit. Plug in the UDS power supply, and at the same time hold the x key down on your keyboard. You should see

Press the Enter key – You should see

Go into Server config by pressing 0

You will need to enter an IP address for the UDS device. After you complete the IP address the UDS device will ask you if want to set the Gateway IP Address. After you complete the Gateway IP Address the UDS will ask you for the Number of Bits for the Netmask: Number of Bits for Host Part. You will enter 8 for 255.255.255.0

Don’t change the remaining settings. Once you get back to the main menu
Change Setup:0 Server configuration
1 Channel 1 configuration
7 Factory defaults
8 Exit without save
9 Save and exit Your choice ?

You will press 9 (Save and exit). The UDS device will re-boot.
You are now ready to connect the UDS device to the PBX using the DB25 Male to Male cross over cable.

You need to open the back of the Main PPN cabinet of the AVAYA G3 PBX. There will be two RS232 female connectors marked Terminal. One should already have a connector tied to it. This connection should be for your SAT terminal. You will connect the DB25 male cable to the other port marked Terminal. You now need to plug in the LAN connection. Apply power to the device.

Open up Definity Site Administrator (DSA).
Click on Add Switch, give it a name, click on next. You will need to click on Network connection. Click on Next. Type in the IP address of the UDS Device. Click on Next. The TCP/IP Port Number will be 10001. Click on Next, Click Next again. Complete the programming.

The LAN Connection will only allow One person in at a time.

The only problem that we ran into was, when you go to logoff the PBX, you are able to log off, but DSA keeps the connection up. With DSA open, click on the Connection Status screen and you will see that the device is still connected in an Idle stat. You need to highlight the connection and right click the connection and click on Disconnect. You can also just exit DSA completely and this will break the connection.

We also found that while you are connected to the PBX using this new device the SAT terminal will echo whatever you are looking at and whatever you are typing. And if you use the SAT terminal and someone else connects to the PBX using the new device, the person that is IP’d will see what is being typed on the SAT terminal.
