I have been running Exchange 2007 at home now for months.. I would like to get Autodiscover properly setup as the popups in Outlook 2007 are getting annoying. :)

I have a single Exchange 2007 server that uses a self signed cert for SSL.

Internal DNS = mylastname.com
External DNS = mylastnamefamily.com (not hosted by me)

Both OWA and SMTP point to email.mylastnamefamily.com (my static IP)

My hosting company supports SRV records so I would like to go that route.

Do I need to do anything other than have the company that hosts my external DNS create a SRV as follows?

Service: _autodiscover
Protocol: _tcp
Port Number: 443
Host: mail.mylastnamefamily.com

I noticed a mail.mylastnamefamily.com host record does not exist so I will obvious need them to create and point back to my static IP.

Thanks all!

Nope, that should be fine.

But you may still get popups if you connect from clients that don't have your self-signed cert.
