I am in the process of adding a system to OTM however I've run into a snag. When I connect to the system through OTM I get a message "There are no available PTYs defined in the SL1 database". OTM documentation states that I need to "configure a pseudo TTY (PTY) with User = SCH MTC BUG in LD 17." How do I go about doing that? Any guidance would be appreciated.

build a new tty in ld17 and use pty as the type, i think you may need more than 1

Go to LD 37 and STAT. Look through the currently built TTY ports and pick a TTY number not built in that list that also isn't defined on a card.

Go to Ld 17
REQ: CHG
TYPE: ADAN
ADAN: NEW TTY x
Large system CTYP: PTY
Small system TTY_TYPE: PTY
PORT: 0
DES: enter appropriate designator
USER: SCH MTC BUG

If you have enough available TTY ports, you could build 2 PTY ports and the answer to the PORT prompt on the 2nd one would be 1.

btw, you need a vacant device number to add the pttty.. i had to out a couple of spare tty's to add 3 ptty's.. building one did not work.. we could connect after i added the second.. ld 37 stat will show the working tty's
