I am trying to install Cheops-ng on FreeBSD 5.2 Release and ./configure will not work. So i thought i would try to install something else to see if that would work, and it still gives me the "configure: command not found" error no matter what i try t install. I have tried Glib, GTK+, NMap 3.50, libxml, etc. Any ideas?

Hi,

When you type "./configure", make usre you have configure file in curretn directory. have you read the readme file. Sometimes you only have to type "make" and "make install".

yep, there is a configure file in there, and all of the INSTALL files tell me to run ./configure

Hi,

I donwloaded the application and tried on my machine. From the README and INSTALL files, you need to have couple of things. Then to build them, very unusual way:

aclocal
autoconf
configure
gmake
gmake install

I think you better contact the developer.

well, i am going from the source to install cheops... this still happens tho when i try to install nmap or any of the other programs listed in the first post. Why would it stop working?

Make sure that you are root before you try to install anything!

i ended up scrapping the machine and i am now running gentoo on Virtual Server 2005. It is easier to install the programs i need in gentoo.
