Configure the VirusScan Console by the Registry

I want to config the "Randomize Time Window" in the "AutoUpdate"-tasks by using the registry. I've found the setting in
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\VirusScan\AVConsol\ScanTasks\item_2\dwRandomWndMins",

but when I change this keys and open the scheduler in the VirsuScanConsole it overwrites the Registry with the old Keys.

Try to stop McAfee services, Modify the registry, start the services.

It's a good idea? May be not.
