Hi, does anyone know how to configure a modem at the remote end ie that it answers and connects to the Md110.
How do I clear the AT commands already stored in it.
What commands should I put in it and how do I store these commands so that even if the modem is powered down, they will remain stored.
The modem is normal 56K US robotics.
Cheers

1. ats0=1 (autoanswer after one ringtone)
2. atq1 (supress ok-answer)
3. ate0 (supress echo)
from now youm must enter the next commands blind:
4. at&d (enter blind!)
5. at&y0 (loading register 0 after powerdown or reset
6. at&w0 (write and store to register 0)
if programming fails, enter blind:
7. at&f (set to fabric, delivery-state)
start from 1.

absolutely reliable...

If you press +++ it is a signal for your modem that the command is send to modem but not to external device (MD 110)
after +++ You can program modem not MD

If you want to connect to MD send
SSSSSSSSSS;
without +++

Hi RFPUI, I only did the +++, AT&V to show you guys how my modem is configured. After sending my capital SSSSSSSSSS's
the cursor goes back to the start of the line and I'm not asked to enter the password.

Try to restart IPU or NIU board,
The best way is swich off HDU, unplug IPU/NIU board wait ca 10 sek. and plug it again, swich on HDU.

Hi rfpui, I've tried that, there is a Tracker modem working ok on the same board -- I've restarted the board, pulled it - there is a tracker modem on the same board which works fine. Don't ask - due to political reasons the company needing access are not allowed to use the tracker.
The answer must be in the modem setup. (I think)

Hello hughiepal, I really don't know what is your problem. If you like to change the modem settings, you had to connect your rs232 directly to the modem you are trying to configure. There is no way to change the settings of the remote modem via carrier signal. If you +++ while you are connected to will just change your modem and not the remote modem. To go back after +++ is ATO. /patcher

Hi, I wasn't trying to change the settings - just display what the they were.
cheers

check your speed parameters modem-modem and RS232-MD.
Should be fix with e.g. 9600

Hi,

Had encountered the same problem as follow :

case 1 : after issued SSSSSSS; but the MD did not responsed with SSSSS via the remote modem.
1.1 Action taken : restarted IPU OK,but for a short period of time only, after that same problem happed again.

case 2 : under case 1 condition , some other PC or Notebook with modem had successfully connected to MD without any problem.

Question : is this a common symptom for using IPU card.any patch on MD that can help to improve this situration.

Any info is welcomed.

Many thanks
