We have a Meridian system with a T1 interface that supports 12 trunks and need to modify the configuration to make the interface operate as a PRI.

Can anyone give me some instruction on how to do that - we do have remote access capability into hat system.

Thanks.

YOUR GOING TO NEED LOCAL ACCESS TO THAT SITE UNLESS THIS IS A OPT 11C WITH TMDI CARDS, YOUR GOING TO NEED TO INSTALL A DAUGHTERBOARD OR A CABLE TO A MSDL CARD

By remote access I meant that we are able to connect to the systems serial port through a PC using Hyperterm and can access hat PC remotely.

The system has a NTAK09BA card installed - A cable plugs onto the motherboard which runs to the carriers T1 Interface.

as perry said, you'll need a dch handler card, either daughter board or msdl depending on the switch type. either way you'll need to out the trunks and the t1 card and add it back to the cequ as pri. build the d in ld 17 and then add the route and trunks.. if someone on site has the hardware in place then it can be done remote.. be sure to download the dch in 96 after you make any changes to the adan.. and of course, your changes need to be mirrowed via the provider for it to establish.. if those 12 trunks are your only route, then that route will be down while the software is done.. your looking at least 15 minutes downtime. i've done it faster but it was because i was doing t1 to pri everyday for over a month.. the only thing that will slow you down is getting to a prompt or sch that you have to look up... for instance rls of the far end switch.. when possible we install the new ckt and test, then turn off the old.. depends on what down time means to that customer.. some could care less after 5 pm, other can't stand a few minutes at anytime and they would need to pay the extra cost of spares and duplicate service install
