hi,
I'm having hard time setting up mulptiple websites on my IIS server. I created two additional site besides the default one and associated each one with an IP address. when I try to access either one of the two I created I get the default site.

the IP addresses are already setup on my DNS Server

please help.
I'm running win2000 and IIS 5.0

thanks

waely,

If you haven't messed with the firewall, then likely it only has a static mapping for the original IP and website.
You'll need to allow traffic (NAT) to the specific IP addresses assigned to the ultiple sites.

I am having exactly the same problems with IIS6, Win2003Ser. I am trying to install 2 SSL licenses, but I can only view 1 site, not the other,, did u find out what was wrong Waely?

I also have specific IP addresses for each site, both internal IP and external IP.

Well, I pulled an allnighter on this, and found the solution..

Here is what I did, (step by step)

1. NAT the router
2. Assigned the internal IP numbers in the Network
3. Inserted the IP numbers in the DNS
4. TURNED THE FIREWALL OFF (THIS DID THE TRICK)
5. Made the websites in IIS6, assigned the internal IP's to the websites
6. Started the firewall again,,

Everything works fine now, the thing was that the firewall did not update itself with the new internal IP's that I assigned to the network adapter, it only did it when it was started up again, (using outpost firewall) crappy firewall, changing it out very soon for something better.

Hope this works for you !!

I suspected such a problem, either not adding addresses, or this simply not working right.
Well done! :)

Incidentally, we have used Sonicwall for 5 years, and they are great, and inexpensive. In my last position, we used WatchGuard, which may be a bit pricier, but haviong used both they are VERY similar in function (well, obviously, but what I mean is the way they can be programmed graphically) and user interfaces.

Good luck!

Will
