Hello,

I have an executive assistant with an Optipoint 420 with 2 add on side cars. She has 7 keys configured to go directly to specific mailboxes. Call comes in, she answers, press Transfer key, press another key that is configured to go directly to specific mailbox. The destination of key is a NAME funtion key with a destination of C2418XXXX, XXXX being the extension of the mailbox. 6 of the keys work, one does not. I can change the display on the Key, but it only tansfers to Xpressions main menu, and not to the actual mailbox gretting of the individual. All of the other keys configured this way work

I tried to use a test optipoint 420 and recreate this for myself with a test mailbox, and I get a busy tone when I transfer and the message "18xxx not available". I can't even get the key to send me to Xpressions main menu on my test phone, I think maybe I need a sidecar or configure the phone.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
thanks

If you can log on via Comwin,
REG-ZIEL:NAME,XXXX;
Where XXXX is the extension number of the executive assistant.
You should see the programming of the keys there.
You can 'protect' the keys from being changed at the phone.

After that it's a case of checking it on Xpressions to see if it is correctly configured there.

I assume on your new keys that you also put the C24 in front of the extension number?? C24 means "Transfer to". It confuses my why she is pressing the Transfer key, and then a Name key that also has Transfer as the first code - that's like Transfer Transfer 18XXXX.

If Expressions works like our old PhoneMail system did, you would dial a special access code for transferring calls, and it would just tell you to release the call. The extension number would be passed directly over by the switch without any further effort.

In the AVST system we have now we have to dial that access code, and then dial the mailbox number we want before we can release the call.

Hope some of this rambling leads to a lightbulb coming on....

Thanks to you both. Below is a Display-Ziel of the assistants phone. Keys 1-5 & 7 work correctly transferring a caller directly into mailbox. Key 6 does not. Key 6 does transfer to Xpressionsmain menu but not directy into the mailbox for extension 6467. In Xpressions I have added the 186467 as an additional Voicemail # under the lead 6467 mailbox, and the mailboxlooks like it is configured exactly like the other 6 mailboxes. Thanks again.

Just out of curiosity have you compared the actual stations to see if there are any differences in classmarks, COS, CFW or other feature selections??
