Configure internet connection on Linux

Hi,

I am new in Linux and i am trying to configure my internet connection on Linux.I know that i have to use a special program that helps Linux to "see" the modem.Can anyone explain me the details of this configuration?
I use a Dial up connection.

hi,

try $lspci for download exact drivers
all so you can use setserial command to configure it.
But I suggest buy new external modem for linux.
coz I had headpain while tring to install my modem.
